FLATLINK E WINCH SHACKLE MOUNT / ASSEMBLY ANODIZED GRAY / FACTOR 55
The FlatLink E (Expert) is a variation of our popular foldable standard FlatLink winch shackle mount. The FlatLink E provides a means to eliminate the conventional winch hook and replace it with a safer and more secure screw pin shackle resulting in a Closed System Winching operation.
The FlatLink E is only available in the Military Specification Anodizing (Mil-A-8625 F Type III) hard anodized gray finish.
Conventional winch hooks can cut and fray recovery straps and often allow strap ends to escape during momentary slack cycles of a typical winching recovery. Screw pin shackles do not allow strap loops to escape due to their secure screw pin attachment. The FlatLink E does not require splicing and is compatible with steel cables or synthetic ropes up to 3/8 inches in diameter. The cable eye is retained in the FlatLink E by a 5/8 inch diameter 6Al4V
Titanium double shear pin and internal snap ring. Installation takes only minutes. The EPDM Rubber Guards protect alloy fairleads and are securely attached to the FlatLink E with 4 barbed tips each. The FlatLink E stows neatly against either roller or Hawse type fairleads and is designed to be used with common 3/4 inch shackles.
Color: Anodized Gray, Made in the USA, Precision machined from 6000 series billet aluminum, Compatible with all roller fairlead license plate mounting brackets.
When folded flat – less than 1.75 inches of thickness, Weight – 26 ounces, Max load rating : 16,000 pounds, Ultimate failure : greater than 40,000 pounds.
Fits steel cables and synthetic winch ropes to 3/8 inch diameters, EPDM Rubber Guard protects alloy fairleads and cushions line stowage
Simple snap ring removal for shear pin, Fits common 3/4 shackles/D-Rings, Eliminates hook rattle and fairlead damage.
FLATLINK ROPE GUARD / FACTOR 55
The Rope Guard for the FlatLink line of products provides complete synthetic rope protection from damaging UV light as well as impact and abrasion damage.
As you can see, when using the Rope Guard, all exposed synthetic rope surfaces are positioned behind the guard and fairlead, allowing you to use the Rope Guard as a skid surface when attempting to climb tall vertical obstacles. Made from Kaiser billet 6000 series aluminum and clear anodized for corrosion protection. Easy DIY installation with 4 drive rivets. Engineered and Made In The USA.

HAWSE FAIRLEAD 1 INCH THICK / GUN METAL GRAY / FACTOR 55
Factor 55 introduces a new line of Aluminum Hawse Fairleads. The 1.0 fairleads are CNC machined from 1 inch thick USA 6000 series aluminum bar. The industry standard fairlead thickness is .75 inches thick.
The thicker aluminum bar results in a larger outer fillet radius for the synthetic rope to slide against. This results in less stress on the rope fibers during high angular pulls, increasing the life of your synthetic rope.
The rope slot height opening is taller to allow the larger 1/2 inch tube thimbles to pass through. There is also a machined outer corner chamfer to reduce rope stress for those than plan on using the winch as a front suspension suck down device. These fairleads come in a durable MIL-A-8625F TYPE III gun metal gray hard anodized finish with a laser engraved logo.
What is the best surface finish for Hawse aluminum fairleads? Without a doubt it is a Type III hard anodized coating. Not cosmetic Type II anodized finishes, not powder coated, and not raw or polished aluminum. Why? Because a hard coating can resist the abrasion damage from a dirty/gritty synthetic winch rope rubbing across it. Especially during extreme side pulls where rope fiber stresses are extremely high. A Mil-A-8625 Type III hard anodized finish leaves a .002 inch thick Al2O3 ceramic coating that is in the top 5 hardest materials known to mankind. Not too far away from diamond hardness actually.
Another valuable material property from hard anodized coatings are the low coefficients of friction. Low friction = lower rope heat. Only drawback? Hard anodizing is not offered in typical bright and fancy anodized colors. All Factor 55 fairleads only come in Mil-A-8625 hard gray finishes. Not fancy, but it is the proper finish to extend the life of your synthetic rope.
